How does booking on WhatsApp work in Uganda?+
You send a message to our WhatsApp number (+256 763 064542). The bot asks what service you need, where, and when. You confirm the price, enter your MTN MoMo or Airtel Money PIN when prompted on your phone, and we book a verified provider for you. The whole booking takes about three minutes and you don't need to install anything.
What services can I book?+
House cleaners and baby-sitters. Cleaning is our biggest category with over 200 verified providers across Kampala and nearby towns. Baby-sitting is smaller and growing. If you need something else (gardening, repairs, painting), send a message anyway and we'll tell you whether we can match you.
How do I pay?+
Mobile money. MTN MoMo (numbers starting 077, 078, 076, 039) and Airtel Money (075, 074, 070) both work. A PIN prompt comes up on the phone you tell us to charge. You enter the PIN and the booking is confirmed. We don't store your PIN and we don't ask for it on WhatsApp — only the carrier's own prompt on your SIM.
Which areas do you cover?+
Kampala (all suburbs), Entebbe, Wakiso, Jinja, Mbarara, Mukono, and surrounding areas. Coverage is heaviest in Kampala — outside the capital we may take a few more minutes to find a match. Send the message anyway and we will tell you.
How fast can someone show up?+
Bookings need 24 hours notice so the provider has time to confirm, plan their travel, and prepare. If you need someone today or tomorrow morning, send a message and we will tell you who is available. Same-day bookings happen but are not the default.
How do I know the cleaner is trustworthy?+
Every cleaner and baby-sitter on ProGigFinder is identity-verified before they're allowed to take bookings. You see their name and phone number once they accept your booking — before that, they only see your first name. After the work is done, you rate them. We remove providers with consistently poor ratings.
Why isn't the provider's phone number shown before they accept?+
It protects both sides. If we showed their number up front, people could agree off-platform and skip the booking — which means no record, no review, no recourse if the provider doesn't show up. Once they accept, you both see each other's details and can coordinate directly.
What if I am not happy with the work?+
Reply to us on WhatsApp. We hold the payment briefly after the booking so we can step in if there's a real issue. Disputes get reviewed by a human, not the bot.
Is there a charge to book?+
There's a small mobile-money processing fee (typically UGX 460 for an MTN deposit) that the carrier charges, not us. The service price itself is set by the provider and shown to you before you pay. No subscription, no signup fee, no booking fee on top.
Can businesses book this way too?+
Yes. Office cleaning, post-construction cleanup, and recurring weekly cleans all work through WhatsApp. For larger jobs (full-day teams, retail-floor cleaning) reply on WhatsApp and we will line up the right people.
