Wave is making Africa the first cashless continent. We are looking for a Country Growth Operations Lead based in one of our early-stage countries in West Africa, to lead efforts to expand the user base and manage user acquisition strategies. This role involves leading both user growth operations and agent operations/agent liquidity to grow a market from an early stage to 1 million monthly active users.
8+ years of senior leadership experience in user acquisition, agent operations and liquidity management within mobile money, finance, fintech, telecoms, or tech.
Strong interpersonal skills in building and maintaining positive relationships, active listening, and conflict resolution.

Requirements
- Bilingual proficiency mandatory: exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both English and French.
- Proven sales ability with a successful track record in identifying customer needs.
- Deeply analytical approach to marketing and optimizing cost of customer acquisition.
- Willing to relocate to the primary growth country for up to one year, with periodic returns home each trimester.
- 60-80% travel required within growth-focused market.
- Locations include Abidjan, Bamako, Cameroon, Conakry, Dakar, Kinshasa, Niamey, or Ouagadougou.
Responsibilities
- Drive user growth by optimizing distribution strategies and leading user acquisition initiatives.
- Collaborate with leadership and country teams to ensure alignment and maximize growth opportunities.
- Enhance distribution processes through partnership with product and engineering teams, leveraging technology and data.
- Build and lead high-performing teams, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
- Manage business and financial KPIs in alignment with overall business objectives.
- Champion Wave's values and embed them within team culture.
- Oversee agent network operations, including acquisition, setup, and liquidity management, to support distribution and meet user demand.
- Report to the Head of Scaling Operations and work closely with the CEO and Country General Manager/Director of Operations.
