Equity Bank is one of the largest financial institutions in East and Central Africa, operating across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Sudan, Ethiopia, and the DRC. This senior Group-level role provides strategic leadership, oversight, and direction for the supply chain governance and process excellence agenda across Equity Group Holdings Plc and its subsidiaries. It is a centralized Group governance function responsible for defining, owning, and maintaining supply chain governance standards, frameworks, and practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10-15 years progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, operations, governance, risk, compliance, or process improvement
  • Proven experience operating at senior leadership level, including engagement with Executive Committees or Board Committees
  • Demonstrated exposure to multi-country or multi-subsidiary environments, preferably within financial services
  • Strong background in governance frameworks, risk management, regulatory compliance, and performance governance
  • Experience working within a three-lines-of-defense model with clear understanding of governance vs. operations roles
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a relevant discipline is strongly preferred
  • Relevant professional certifications in supply chain, procurement, or governance are an advantage

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously strengthen a robust end-to-end supply chain governance framework across the Group
  • Monitor, interpret, and govern the translation of regulatory requirements and industry standards into supply chain policies
  • Govern the identification, assessment, and treatment of material risks across supply chain operations
  • Establish and govern KPIs, metrics, and reporting frameworks to measure supply chain governance effectiveness
  • Harmonize governance practices across Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Sudan, and DRC subsidiaries
  • Lead governance-led continuous improvement frameworks across Procurement, Vendor Management, and Warehousing
  • Engage senior leadership, functional heads, and subsidiary teams to secure alignment and buy-in on governance matters
  • Establish, steward, and oversee Group-wide governance standards applicable to governance committees
  • Drive governance immersion and awareness initiatives to embed governance principles across the Group
