Job Description

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is seeking a Programme Support Intern to be based at its Programme Office in Uganda (POUGA) in Kampala. This is a full-time, unpaid internship running for six months, supporting two key programmes: the Strengthening Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Programme and the project on Promoting Accountability, Integrity and Transparency in Justice. UNODC supports the Government of Uganda in strengthening crime prevention and criminal justice institutions, promoting the rule of law, and addressing emerging threats including organized crime and violent extremism. Interns are expected to work five days a week (40 hours) under the supervision of a designated staff member, and will gain hands-on exposure to the work of an international organization at the forefront of justice, security, and rule of law in Uganda. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful UN programmes while developing professional skills in research, communications, programme coordination, and stakeholder engagement within a multicultural and dynamic environment.
