Requirements
- A minimum of a Diploma in General Midwifery and Registration with Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council.
Responsibilities
- Provide total care to mothers during pregnancy (antenatal) and after pregnancy (postnatal) through running special clinics.
- Provide total care to mothers during pregnancy (antenatal) and after pregnancy (postnatal) through running special clinics.
- Participate in the continuous nursing coverage on wards, receive reports and effectively hand over to in-coming shift staff
- Manage obstetrical emergencies and consult the doctor on complicated cases Carry out observation on patients and maintain their records.
- Register and notify authorities about births and deaths of new born.
- Participate actively in Management of wards and labour suite.
- Order for drugs from the pharmacy.
- Maintain all hospitals linen, Instruments and other materials.
- Prepare for sterile procedures and work hand in hand with the Doctors.
- Supervise junior staff in the wards
- Supervise the cleanliness of the wards and maintain high standards of hygiene.
- Adhere to the safety, health and environment policy of the company.
- Conduct meetings in the maternity wards.
- Participates in planning and budgeting for the hospital and lower units
- Perform any other related duties as maybe assigned by the Senior Nursing Officer/Management from time to time.
