Associate (AML & Regulatory
Compliance) based in
Nairobi on a hybrid basis.
The role supports
Apollo's day-to-day compliance program with a focus on AML/CFT, regulatory compliance, policy administration, monitoring, and training.
Working closely with
Finance,
Credit,
Product,
Operations,
People, and external legal counsel, the successful candidate will help keep key compliance obligations on track.
This is a hands-on role suited for someone with 3–5 years of experience who is practical, organised, and detail-oriented.

Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in compliance, AML, legal, audit, risk, internal controls, or regulatory operations
- Degree in Law, Business, Public Administration, or a related field
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and strong on follow-through
- Able to manage multiple workstreams, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously
- Comfortable translating policies and regulatory requirements into practical actions
- Clear communicator who works well across functions
- Willing to take ownership in a hands-on, fast-moving environment
- Experience with AML/CFT or data protection in fintech or financial services is an added advantage
Responsibilities
- Keep policies, templates, and procedures up to date through periodic reviews
- Ensure new processes, vendors, and customer journeys are compliance-reviewed before launch
- Contribute to compliance training and awareness materials for staff
- Own day-to-day compliance coordination and tracking — maintain compliance trackers, calendars, registers, and evidence files across AML/CFT, data protection, corporate compliance, policy reviews, and regulatory filings
- Support core AML and data protection processes including AML/CFT controls, KYC compliance support, sanctions/PEP screening workflows, privacy notices, data subject requests, breach escalation, and records of processing
- Partner with Product, Credit, CX, People, Procurement, and Operations to answer routine compliance questions and spot risks early
- Work independently as an individual contributor, proactively identifying compliance risks and driving actions to resolution
- Work with a leading agri-fintech platform backed by global investors including Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and SoftBank Vision Fund
