The Platform SRE team at Luno owns the full infrastructure stack - from Kubernetes and AWS through to CI/CD, observability, networking, and developer tooling. We work with high autonomy, balancing business initiatives, platform improvements, and the reliability work that keeps a global financial platform running. The role in a nutshell: As a Staff SRE at Luno, you are providing technical expertise and oversight for reliability and scalability across our cloud estate. Joining a high-impact team, you will help shape the future of our platform while partnering with teams throughout the engineering organisation to scale reliability and accelerate delivery. You’ll help manage multi-region Kubernetes and AWS at scale within a regulated financial environment - where uptime is critical. Beyond solving complex problems, you’ll define the technical roadmap, prioritize high-impact initiatives, and lead th Owning and driving large-scale platform initiatives from problem definition through to delivery - setting technical direction, aligning stakeholders, and seeing projects through Building and scaling infrastructure and CI/CD processes on the Luno platform by applying and enforcing Infrastructure as Code. Requirements

  • You have an active interest in AI tooling and emergent technologies.
  • The ideal Lunaut will have:
  • Deep, hands-on experience in a Site Reliability, Platform, DevOps, or Infrastructure engineering role.
  • Strong AWS knowledge, with experience architecting and operating multi-account, multi-region environments.
  • Production-grade Kubernetes experience: building, running and scaling clusters with strict uptime requirements.
  • Extensive experience with observability and monitoring tooling to support live services.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to scope, design and implement business-lead projects.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing large infrastructure projects using Terraform
