Branch is seeking a commercially astute and risk-disciplined Asset Finance Credit Manager to design, structure, and oversee credit underwriting for asset-backed lending including motor vehicles, logbook loans, SME equipment, and trade-linked assets. This role will be responsible for building scalable credit frameworks that balance growth with portfolio quality. Structure new asset finance products in collaboration with Product, Engineering, Business Development, and Marketing teams.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in asset finance, motor vehicle financing, SME equipment lending, or structured lending.
  • Strong understanding of collateral valuation and registration processes.
  • Knowledge of logbook lending frameworks in Kenya and regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience managing asset-backed portfolios.
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills.
  • Experience in digital process optimization is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Design and refine asset finance credit policies covering vehicle financing, SME asset finance, and logbook loans.
  • Develop risk segmentation frameworks for retail, SME, and trade segments.
  • Define LTV thresholds, pricing tiers, tenor structures, and approval authorities.
  • Oversee credit assessment for asset finance applications.
  • Establish standardized appraisal, valuation, and collateral verification processes.
  • Monitor early warning indicators such as arrears and asset repossession trends.
  • Track portfolio performance including PAR, recovery rates, loss curves, and repossession timelines.
  • Design repayment models for salary-based, SME cashflow-based, and trade-based structures.
  • Develop asset finance dashboards and risk reporting packs.
  • Conduct cohort analysis and stress testing.
  • Support partnerships with car dealers, asset suppliers, valuers, and insurance partners.
