One Acre Fund

Nairobi, Kenya and Kigali, Rwanda2 months ago

About One Acre Fund Founded in 2006, One Acre Fund equips 5.5 million smallholder farmers to make their farms more productive. Across nine countries that together are home to two-thirds of Africa's farmers, we provide high-quality farm supplies, tree seedlings, accessible credit, modern agronomic training, and a wide range of other agricultural services. On average, this model enables any farmer to increase their income and assets on supported land by more than 35 percent, while permanently improving their resilience. This is all made possible by our team of 9,000+ full-time staff, drawn from diverse backgrounds and professions. To learn more, please see our Why Work Here blog post. About the Role From R&D to sales to strategy to operations, the Global R&D Data Analyst has the unique opportunity to improve decision-making across all aspects of One Acre Fund’s program using many diverse data types, such as sales, yield, demographic and satellite data, to help us reach more farmers with greater impact. The Global R&D Data Analyst will help us reach over one million farmers by executing analyses for strategic decision-making on repayment, expansion, and other business functions, and work directly with program leaders to interpret results and make data-driven decisions. The Global R&D Data Analyst will play an integral role in shaping One Acre Fund’s data strategy, including dreaming up and executing new ways to use our data to improve our program. Additionally, One Acre Fund has a robust agronomic and socioeconomic research program spanning all countries of operation. This role will work closely with country R&D teams to ensure all trials are executed at the highest possible standards, provide follow-up analytical support and training to team members, and support with warehousing of our agronomic data to make our research outputs accessible to external collaborators, further increasing One Acre Fund’s smallholder farmer impact across the continent. This is a deliberately hybrid role. Success requires the ability to operate effectively as: an experimental methodologist (trial design & causal inference), an applied data scientist (production analytics, geospatial methods, modelling), and a delivery-oriented project manager (prioritisation, documentation, coordination).

Further Education & Training Intern

M-KOPA

South Africa2 months ago

Your career starts somewhere. Make it matter from day one. (Application Deadline: 9 April 2026) Most internships promise experience and deliver filing. This one is different — not because we say so, but because of what M-KOPA actually does, and the scale at which we do it. M-KOPA is one of Africa's most impactful fintech companies. We've extended over $2 billion in credit to customers across the continent — people who had never accessed formal financial products before. Today, more than 7 million customers use M-KOPA products to run businesses, power their homes, and build credit histories. 86% of them report meaningful improvements in their quality of life. We've assembled over 2 million smartphones right here in Africa, and our 35,000-strong agent network stretches across communities that traditional finance has never reached. Behind every one of those outcomes is a team that keeps things running — precisely, professionally, and with genuine care. That's where you come in. What this internship actually is This is a 12-month Further Education & Training internship based in South Africa. It is a full-time, office-based role located in Johannesburg, and applicants should consider their ability to commute or be based within the Johannesburg area when applying. It’s designed for someone at the start of their professional journey — someone with a Matric certificate, a sharp eye for detail, and the kind of drive that doesn't need much managing. You'll work across departments, supporting the administrative and operational functions that keep a fast-growing fintech company moving. You won't be shadowing from the sidelines. You'll be handling real correspondence, maintaining live records, capturing data that informs management decisions, and acting as a bridge between teams when service queries need resolution. A monthly stipend is provided for the full duration of the programme. Why M-KOPA, and why now? We're in the middle of a deliberate expansion. If you've noticed M-KOPA advertising across multiple disciplines recently, that's intentional — we're building the infrastructure to grow from 7 million customers to 10 million, and every layer of that build matters. The teams you'll support are growing. The systems you'll help maintain are scaling. The work is real, and it's happening now. This is the kind of environment where someone early in their career can develop faster than they would almost anywhere else — not because we'll put you in a classroom, but because you'll be working inside a company that moves quickly and takes its people seriously. M-KOPA is a certified B Corporation, which means our accountability extends beyond profit. It extends to our people, our customers, and our communities. What you'll be doing Your days will vary, and that's the point. Across the 12 months, you'll be contributing to: Office administration — managing incoming and outgoing correspondence, maintaining both physical and digital filing systems, and ensuring that information flows accurately between teams. Data and records management — capturing and updating data on internal systems and spreadsheets, generating reports and summaries for management review, and supporting POPIA-compliant document handling. Accuracy here isn't just good practice; it protects real people's information. Service issue resolution and general support — acting as a liaison between assigned teams and technical teams when service queries arise, supporting the onboarding of new staff with documentation, and providing administrative assistance wherever it's needed across departments. Ready to begin somewhere that matters? If this feels like more than just a first job, it probably is. Let's talk. Why M-KOPA? At M-KOPA, we empower our people to own their careers through diverse development programs, coaching partnerships, and on-the-job training. Retail Training and Quality Assurance Lead (Western Cape)

M-KOPA

Western Cape, Cape Town2 months ago

You know the difference between training that ticks a box and training that actually changes how someone works. You've seen what happens when a team gets genuinely upskilled — the customer interactions improve, the compliance scores move, the performance data tells a different story. And you've probably sat with frustrating quality audit results and thought: this is fixable, if we approach it differently. That instinct — the one that connects learning design to real operational outcomes — is exactly what M-KOPA is looking for. We're hiring a Retail Training and Quality Assurance Lead in South Africa to shape the capability and quality standards of our retail function — designing and delivering training for Stock Controllers and retail teams, leading quality audits across our operations, and using data to drive the kind of continuous improvement that shows up in customer experience and team performance alike. We've served more than 7 million customers across Africa, unlocking over $2 billion in credit. 55% of those customers are accessing formal financial services for the very first time. 86% report a meaningful improvement in their quality of life. We're growing toward 10 million — and our retail network is growing with us. As our footprint expands, the capability of the people inside it, and the quality of the experience they deliver, becomes more important than ever. This role is where that standard is set and sustained. Training and QA often sit in separate functions, and rarely talk to each other the way they should. In this role, they're unified — which means the insights from your quality audits directly inform your training design, and the effectiveness of your training is visible in your QA data. That closed loop is what makes this role genuinely powerful, and it's what separates it from a standard L&D or compliance function. On the training side, you'll design and deliver comprehensive learning experiences for Stock Controllers and retail teams — spanning product expertise, system proficiency, customer handling, and the soft skills that make the difference between a technically capable employee and an exceptional one. You'll use a blend of classroom facilitation and digital learning through M-KOPA Academy, our proprietary learning platform. You'll build assessment frameworks, conduct monthly evaluations, track progress, and analyse performance data to identify where competency gaps are opening up and close them with targeted interventions — before
