Job Description
Absa Bank Kenya is seeking a Credit Analyst - Portfolio Performance based at Hannington 2 in Nairobi (Hybrid).
This is an 8-month fixed-term contract role that analyzes Retail Credit portfolio performance and provides data-driven insights, forecasts, and management information to support decision-making across the credit lifecycle.
The role covers acquisition, exposure management, collections, and recovery functions within the Retail Credit division.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or a related field.
- 2 years working experience in a similar role preferably in a financial institution.
- High level of modelling in MS Excel with experience in manipulating large data sets.
- Strong IFRS knowledge and experience in econometric modeling or risk forecasting.
- Strong knowledge of portfolio dynamics and Credit Risk lifecycle.
- Proven knowledge of analysing and interpreting data using statistical models.
- Experience with SAS or SQL for data manipulation.
- Strong communication skills to communicate complex concepts at all levels.
- Excellent planning and organization skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure with attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Extract, manipulate and perform statistical analysis on credit data.
- Perform data analysis and forecasting of portfolio performance statistics.
- Generate monthly and ad-hoc management information for analysts and managers.
- Review the loan list of all borrowers and their product segmentation.
- Run all portfolio performance tracking reports.
- Validate data integrity and run parallel operations to cross-verify data accuracy.
- Analyze and interpret performance and applications data relating to Credit Risk processes.
- Provide analysis to support business activities such as Credit Risk strategy changes.
- Continuously strive to improve decision support systems.
