Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field
- Prior experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or a similar finance role
- Strong understanding of credit and collections policies and procedures
- Proficiency in reconciling accounts and preparing financial statements and reports
- Good communication and negotiation skills for liaising with clients and internal teams
- Attention to detail with ability to monitor and manage multiple debt accounts simultaneously
- Ability to work under pressure and meet collection targets and deadlines
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel
Responsibilities
- Responsible collection of debts from clients in a timely manner
- Ensure credit and collection policies and procedures are followed across all accounts
- Ensure collections are done in time to keep debtor days for Governments and NGOs below 30 days
- Monitor debt balances daily and flag overdue accounts for action
- Reconcile accounts that have been escalated from the sales and underwriting team
- Liaise with customers, underwriters and sales team to ensure prompt collection
- Prepare statements and reports on outstanding debts and collection performance
- Cancel debts falling beyond the credit period in accordance with company policy
- Carry out any other responsibilities assigned by line manager or the senior management team
