Job Description
A leading HealthTech company is seeking a Development Lead to lead the software development team in delivering high-quality and scalable software solutions. The role requires both technical leadership expertise and strong people management skills — building and mentoring a team of full-stack, frontend, backend, DevOps, and QA engineers. Remuneration: NGN 800,000 - 1 Million Net per month.
Client Service: Plan and deliver projects based on agreed timelines, promptly identify and manage risks, ensure solutions are fit for purpose and fully documented, conduct thorough testing before release.
6 years of software development experience with a minimum of 3 years leading a team as an experienced full-stack developer. Degree in a related field. Deep understanding of Cloud infrastructure (AWS, Digital Ocean, Azure, or GCP). Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot backend systems. Strong experience with Angular or modern frontend frameworks. Strong knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, system design, and security best practices. Knowledge of project management tools such as Jira, GitHub, and Slack. Experience in microservices and distributed systems architecture. Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience working in HealthTech startups or scaling digital health platforms is highly desirable. Knowledge of AI, health analytics, or population health systems is an advantage.

Responsibilities
- Ensure ongoing code quality and provide overall strategic technical leadership for the organisation.
- Build, sustain, and collaborate with a team of software engineers including full-stack, specialized frontend and backend, DevOps, and Quality Assurance engineers.
- Provide a needs assessment for any software development and implementation project. Mentor team members through developing team goals and objectives, providing feedback, supervising, training, and guiding the team.
- Ensure that software applications developed are compliant with local and international regulations and can compete on a global scale.
- Manage resource allocation for software development including sprint planning, skill gap assessment, task assignment, and workload management.
- Lead the development and lifetime maintenance of software products, managing the continuous improvement process within the software product lifecycle.
- Review project and process documentation. Translate user stories, requirements, and functional specifications into functional applications.
