An exciting vacant position has arisen at East Africa Bottling Share Company – Ethiopia for the role of Finance Accountant.

Key Purpose Statement
Finance Accountant is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of the organization's financial reporting processes, asset management, taxation, and governance frameworks. The role provides insight in financial accounting, statutory reporting, internal controls, and capital management while ensuring adherence to IFRS, regulatory requirements, and company policies. He/She partners with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality financial insights, strengthen financial governance, support strategic decision-making, and drive continuous improvement across finance operations.

Requirements
- 5 years’ financial accounting and financial management experience in a corporate or FMCG environment.
- Analyze cash flow and financial data to ensure accurate forecasting and liquidity management.
- Maintain accuracy in daily cash management, reconciliations, and treasury transactions.
- Clearly communicate financial information and updates to stakeholders and collaborate effectively with internal teams.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with treasury operations, including currency and interest rate fluctuations.
- Ensure adherence to regulations, internal controls, and company policies related to treasury activities.
- CA(SA) or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- HDip in Taxation will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and submit monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Drive accuracy and integrity of the balance sheet and general ledger.
- Manage completion of financial close, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Support annual audit processes and liaise with external/internal auditors.
- Maintain fixed asset registers and ensure compliance with asset governance policies.
- Oversee capital expenditure processes including forecasting, tracking, and reconciliations.
- Support the capital investment process, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
- Support tax planning and ensure compliance with local tax laws and CCBA group policies.
- Review tax computations and returns in collaboration with Local and group Tax.
- Ensure import/export compliance with relevant legislation.
- Implement and monitor internal controls aligned to SOX and IFC requirements.
- Ensure compliance with CCBA Treasury, accounting, and audit standards.
- Identify and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance
- Partner with market finance and operations teams to deliver financial insights.
- Engage with CCBA HQ Finance (Tax, IFRS, Treasury, Governance) on technical matters.
- Manage relationships with outsourced financial service providers.
- Support a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance and coaching to junior finance team members.
