Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Part-qualification or finalist status in CPA(U) or ACCA, actively progressing towards completion
  • Demonstrable progressive accounting experience in a structured finance environment
  • Solid working knowledge of Uganda statutory requirements including PAYE, NSSF, WHT, VAT, and EFRIS compliance
  • Proven hands-on experience with an ERP system
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience is a meaningful advantage
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Maintain balance sheet reconciliations across assigned accounts, resolving aged items within agreed timelines
  • Support month-end close, flagging risks and unresolved items early to the Senior Financial Controller
  • Prepare monthly VAT, WHT, PAYE, and NSSF workings for both Uganda entities
  • Maintain a live compliance calendar across both Uganda entities
  • Support EFRIS compliance for applicable supplier transactions
  • Respond to URA queries with complete, clearly labelled documentation
  • Assist with statutory audit preparation and provide audit evidence as required
