Job Description

Reporting to the Financial Crime Manager, the Fraud Risk Analyst will be responsible for monitoring, detecting and preventing losses resulting from high risk and fraudulent monetary and non-monetary transactions through timely review and closure of fraud risk alerts. Timely escalation of alerts to the Financial Crime Manager, Head Financial Crime Management, or Chief Risk Officer as required. Knowledge of local laws, regulatory expectations, and internal policy requirements as they relate to financial crime risk.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Certification in Fraud Examination (CFE) is an added advantage.
  • At least 3 years' experience in Banking or related operations.
  • Knowledge of banking products, risks, and processes.
  • Good interviewing skills to enlist required information.
  • Proficiency in fraud detection software tools, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and evaluate information.
  • Clear, concise, and effective oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of maturity, confidentiality, and objectivity.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with internal and external parties to validate transaction information as required.
  • Contribute to creation of fraud rules on the Bank's fraud detection tools by providing analytical data.
  • Facilitate periodic calls with Visa Risk Manager (VRM) team and other stakeholders to improve information flow.
  • Timely resolution of queued transactions within SLA to reduce potential revenue losses.
  • Perform first level investigations on identified suspicious activities and fraud risks.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to implement fraud prevention measures including bank-wide training and awareness.
  • Identify new techniques to prevent future fraud.
  • Monitor and analyze bank accounts, financial transactions and other financial documents to identify red flags and report potentially fraudulent activity.
  • Detect and prevent potential fraud across all payment channels by reviewing alerts on customers' accounts and observing transactions to identify fraudulent activity such as account takeover and theft.
  • Identify fraud patterns through active monitoring and interpretation of alerts on the Bank's fraud detection and monitoring tools.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports detailing suspected fraudulent cases, financial exposures, confirmed fraud cases, and fraud saves.
