Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, CA, CPA, or CIMA
  • At least 3 years in a senior finance management position
  • Knowledge of integrated accounting systems
  • Understanding of local tax laws including VAT, withholding tax, and corporate tax
  • Proven track record of managing large teams and driving process improvements
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of the financial strategy, anticipating trends and complex challenges
  • Drive profitability of the business and guide the organization on growing ROE, revenues, and IFRS profits
  • Develop and maintain effective Board relationships and participate in Board reporting
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting across the Group
  • Provide effective management of the company's financial and other resources
  • Oversee financial reporting, management accounting, treasury, tax, and audit functions
  • Manage large finance teams across multiple East African markets
  • Drive process improvements and ensure compliance with local tax and regulatory requirements
  • Lead the annual operating planning and financial forecasting processes
