Job Description
Wave is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Internal Auditor to ensure operations meet the highest standards of compliance, efficiency, and risk management. You will lead audit missions, provide valuable insights to strengthen internal controls, and help foster a culture of accountability as Wave scales rapidly. You will report directly to the Audit Committee and play a key role in driving operational excellence. This is a permanent position based in Dakar with travel to field locations.

Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in risk management, internal audit, or related fields in a bank or financial institution.
- Secondary degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Business and Economics, or a comparable field.
- Excellent analytical skills and a taste for in-depth technical investigation.
- Fluent in French and English.
- Proven experience with an international company or have worked internationally.
- Work authorization in Senegal required.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive internal audit plan based on the company's objectives and risks.
- Conduct internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Review financial, operational, and compliance processes to identify control weaknesses or areas for improvement.
- Conduct thorough investigations into suspected fraud, misconduct, or irregularities.
- Prepare detailed audit reports highlighting findings, recommendations, and action plans.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards in the WAEMU region and ensure company compliance.
- Recommend process improvements and control enhancements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
