Essence Mediacom, part of WPP Scangroup, is looking for a Media Planner to join their team in Kenya. As the conduit between strategy and implementation across all activation channels, the Media Planner will use data-driven insights to create integrated channel plans that deliver on client KPIs. You will work closely with the Media Manager in receiving client briefs, analyzing market-level competitive data, share of voice (SOV) and media consumption data to build media analysis and planning implications, and be responsible for campaign performance reporting. A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Communications, Business, Finance, Actuarial Science, or Mathematics preferred Familiar with all implementation tools including Ipsos data points, Geopoll, and other 3rd party and secondary data points Experience working with multiple stakeholders including suppliers, advertising/marketing agencies, media owners and internal specialist resources

Requirements

  • Qualifications & Experience:
  • At least 3 years experience in a media, advertising, or data planning agency
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong communicator — English is the global language
  • Excellent numerical analysis skills and attention to detail
  • Energy, passion and self-motivation
  • Great knowledge in Excel and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Campaign Planning & Implementation:
  • Implement media plans across both traditional and digital channels
  • Deliver excellent insight-led reports
  • Develop great understanding of your portfolio of clients
  • Client & Team Collaboration:
  • Be the primary contact for clients for day-to-day activities
  • Propose ideas and activities to answer identified challenges
  • Mentor new interns and assist in leading small-scale projects
  • Financial & Administrative:
  • Support finance tracking, ensure tracking documents are updated
  • Help resolve client queries with support from buyers and internal finance team
  • Participate in new business pitches
  • Demonstrate understanding of the media landscape and business challenges and contribute ideas on how to improve on current situation
  • Assist in leading medium-scale projects — identify needs, formulate ideas into plans, set scope and present to the Manager
