Job Description

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a recognised institution
• Valid registration and practising licence with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council (UNMC)
• Working knowledge of primary care, IPC, and MoH clinical guidelines
• Strong patient-care, communication, and team-work skills
• Willingness to work shifts as required by the Health Centre schedule

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to students, staff, and dependants at the UCU Allan Galpin Health Centre
• Conduct triage, patient assessments, and vital-sign checks
• Administer prescribed medication, injections, and treatments per MoH guidelines
• Support outpatient care, minor procedures, dressings, and health education
• Assist with immunisation, first aid, and emergency response on campus
• Maintain accurate patient records, drug registers, and reports
• Adhere to infection prevention and control (IPC) and patient confidentiality standards
