Requirements

  • NQF Level 7 - Degree, Advanced Diploma or Postgraduate Certificate or equivalent
  • Experience in risk management, compliance, or a related financial services field
  • Proficiency with compliance software and regulatory compliance management
  • Strong skills in data compilation, management reporting, and QA methodologies
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and ability to manage complexity
  • Excellent oral communications and professional presentation skills
  • Knowledge of AML, KYC, and sanctions compliance processes and requirements
  • Ability to balance stakeholder needs and instill trust across the organization

Responsibilities

  • Monitor implementation of the Group risk policies, procedures, standards, systems and guidelines and identify gaps to be closed
  • In conjunction with the Group Head of Financial Risk, conduct stress tests, sensitivity analysis and simulation to update the Board and EXCO on risks facing the company and how to mitigate them
  • Monitor full compliance against established risk standards and regulatory requirements including transaction monitoring, tracking risk and compliance matrix and review of reports sent to the regulator
  • Identify potential areas of risk and controls gaps; provide guidance on how to mitigate the risks identified; conduct follow up to ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Provide awareness among management and staff through guidance, communications, and training to ensure compliance with the company framework and methodologies
  • Provide regular reporting on risk including Dashboards and Reports for Financial and Operational risk, quarterly Board reports and Risk Management Reports to EXCO
  • Ensure adherence to, implementation of, and adoption of Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Sanctions-related policies, procedures, and process requirements
  • Execute customer due diligence processes, ensuring compliance with Know-Your-Customer (KYC) standards, conducting ongoing and enhanced due diligence, and maintaining data quality
  • Identify and monitor potential AML, Sanctions, or Compliance breaches and unusual activities, and escalate concerns to the Risk and Compliance Office
