Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce or related field
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA or CPA) — REQUIRED
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
• At least 2–3 years in a supervisory or finance management role
• IFRS financial reporting experience (IFRS 17 highly desirable)
• Preparation and review of financial statements, monthly and year-end close, account reconciliations, financial controls
• Budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, taxation and statutory compliance
• Internal and external audit coordination
• Experience within insurance or financial services is an added advantage

Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting — prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and company policies
• Support preparation of IFRS 17 financial reports and other statutory reporting requirements
• Prepare IFRS 17 Risk-Based Supervision (RBS) returns
• Produce timely management reports, analyse financial performance, highlight variances and recommend corrective actions
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes
• Accounting Operations — oversee day-to-day accounting operations ensuring completeness and accuracy
• Coordinate monthly and year-end close processes
• Review account reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items
• Coordinate complex accounting assignments and support cross-functional finance initiatives
• Financial Controls & Compliance — maintain effective financial control environment and internal controls
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, the Insurance Act, tax legislation and other regulatory requirements
• Implement audit recommendations and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Treasury, Investments & Credit Management — monitor company investments per Investment Policy Statement and produce monthly reports
• Support effective credit management by monitoring receivables and implementing approved credit-control strategies
• Monitor operating expenses and support cost management initiatives
• Audit & Stakeholder Management — coordinate internal and external audits, liaise with regulators, auditors, banks, tax authorities
• Ensure timely submission of statutory and regulatory returns
• Team Leadership — supervise and coach junior accounting staff, promote continuous learning and adherence to company values
