Architect is responsible for designing, developing, and evolving the foundational technology architecture that supports scalable and high-performing digital platforms.
The role is responsible for creating architecture blueprints, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, and enabling interoperability across systems and services.
The incumbent provides architectural oversight across multiple product teams, ensuring solutions are modular, secure, and aligned with modern engineering principles.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification.
- Postgraduate qualification in Architecture, Systems Design, or Cloud Computing is advantageous.
- Strong hands-on capability in frontend tech such as React/React Native, TypeScript, state management, performance.
- Strong hands-on capability in backend tech such as Node.js/TypeScript, APIs, microservices patterns, databases.
- Excellence in clean code, testing including unit/integration/contract, and CI/CD quality automation.
- Ability to simplify complex engineering topics into teachable, repeatable practices.
- Comfortable doing deep code reviews, pairing, and architectural troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Align platform architecture with enterprise architecture principles, technology governance, and security frameworks.
- Design and recommend solutions that facilitate seamless interoperability between systems, applications, and services.
- Integrate performance tuning, scalability, and secure-by-design practices into all architectural designs.
- Monitor technology trends and propose enhancements that future-proof the platform and support innovation.
- Define and enforce code-level architecture standards and best practices across frontend and backend teams.
- Create and maintain reference implementations, starter kits, shared frameworks, and reusable templates for engineers.
- Review codebases to ensure alignment with architecture principles, simplicity, and maintainability.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers through clinics, brown-bags, and code walkthroughs.
- Partner with platform architects to translate high-level architecture into practical coding patterns.
- Identify refactoring opportunities and lead technical improvement initiatives to reduce complexity and defects.
- Deliver well-documented, modular architecture designs that support current and future digital solutions across the enterprise.
- Provide architectural input and oversight to software engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure consistency and reuse.
- Own coding guidelines including structure, naming, error handling, testing strategy, dependency management, and CI quality gates.
