Job Description

MTN South Africa's Returns Department forms part of the wider Warehouse environment within MTN Finance. The team is responsible for receiving and processing all returned stock under various categories from the various sales channels of MTN SA. The team also handles preparation, processing, and despatch of stock to be returned to vendors or placed on tender. This is a hybrid role based at the MTN SA Innovation Centre in Gauteng. Ensure all stock returns are accurately received from couriers and comply with returns criteria and policies; perform stock rejection for non-compliant items. Scan all serialized items back into Warehouse inventory on Oracle where applicable; receipt stock on WMS Expert RDT system. Hand over completed returns documentation to the Commercial Credit Department and file all documentation for audit retrieval.

Requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12) required; additional inventory or logistics courses are beneficial.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all stock and system transactions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a changing work environment.
  • Ownership, accountability, and innovative thinking.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Good interpersonal skills with solid written and oral communication ability.
  • Collaboration skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Experience with Oracle WMS or similar warehouse management systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct completeness checks of returned stock against system records and collection documents.
  • Receive and receipt stock on system and into totes; raise and process RMAs and Intransit Receipts for returned stock.
  • Ensure stock is in correct system status and resolve stock in 'Held' status; clear Intransit locations timeously.
  • Perform packing, inter-org transfers, sub-inventory transfers, and cage deposits to relevant stock locations.
  • Ensure OBF and Warranty Assessment stock is handed over to suppliers for assessment; perform RTVs for approved stock.
  • Prepare, invoice, and dispatch stock on Tender; ensure all returns are processed without delay.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts and prepare count sheets for monthly stock counts.
  • Assist with reconciliation of stock discrepancies and with other Warehouse areas as operationally required.
  • Resolve channel and customer queries related to stock returns.
