RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OVERALL DAY-TODAY SUPERVISION OF THE TERMINALS OPERATIONS WITH REGARDS TO THE HANDLING AND STORAGE OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS WHILE ENSURING THAT THE PROCESSES ARE CARRIED OUT IN A SAFE MANNER TO PROTECT THE PEOPLE, FACILITIES, AND THE ENVIRONMENT IN WHICH THE OPERATIONS ARE CARRIED OUT.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Civil/Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum Engineering or any relevant engineering degree from a recognized University.
  • At least Six (6) years’ relevant work experience in development, management, or operations of petroleum products terminals or depots, three (3) years of which should have been attained at a supervisory/team leader level.
  • Demonstrated terminal/depot operations management experience of at least three (3) years is an essential requirement
  • Post Graduate training in Health and Safety is an added advantage
  • Professional Membership to accredited Engineering, Terminals or Pipelines body is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, supervise, and lead daily terminal activities including receipt, handling, storage, accounting, and dispatch of petroleum products to efficiently serve the clients’ requirements.
  • Implement operational procedures aligned with industry standards to ensure equipment integrity, safety, and uphold stakeholder confidence.
  • Contribute to the creation, review, and implementation of the terminals operational processes and related SOPs and reflecting the evolving product handling practices.
  • Oversee quality control measures to guarantee receipt and dispatch of petroleum products that meet required standards.
  • Supervise the terminals product receipt and dispatch operations within the approved and provided budgets, ensuring efficiency and cost control.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, security agencies, and internal teams to support safe and continuous operations.
  • Participate in health, safety, security, and environmental engagements with internal QHSSE teams.
  • Handle stakeholder inquiries and coordinate with internal functions to resolve product receipt and dispatch issues.
  • Develop and implement processes to maintain product quality, minimize losses, and enhance reliability in stock handling and management.
  • Continuously monitor and review stock movement reports and measuring equipment efficiency data to timely recommend operational improvements.
  • Support development and implementation of guidelines for security and strategic stock management to ensure supply continuity.
  • Develop and continuously update risk identification and mitigation frameworks to safeguard operations and business objectives.
  • Ensure that the terminal product receipt, storage, and dispatch operations adhere to insurance provisions and reporting requirements to protect company assets.
  • Conduct relevant research and analysis to identify technological and/or process innovations that optimize costs and improve the terminal operational efficiency.
