How do I find electrical work in Kampala?▼
Register here for free. We verify your skills, then match you with buyers in Kampala who are searching for an electrician right now. Most of our incoming requests are residential rewiring, socket repairs, and solar/inverter installation.
How much do electricians make in Uganda?▼
A small repair (one socket, a tripping breaker) pays UGX 50,000 to 80,000. A full rewiring of a 3-bedroom house pays UGX 600,000 to 1.2M. Solar inverter installs are higher. A consistent electrician on the platform makes UGX 1M to 2M a month.
Do I need to be REA certified?▼
For full residential rewiring jobs, REA certification is strongly preferred and helps you charge more. For smaller repair work (sockets, fixtures, troubleshooting), a UVTAB or polytechnic certificate is enough. If you only have informal training but real experience, we still consider you — just expect a longer verification call.
How does payment work?▼
Money is held in escrow. The buyer pays upfront through mobile money or card, you do the job, the buyer confirms it is done, and we send the money to your mobile money. Platform fee is small and clearly shown before you accept the job.
Will I have to travel far?▼
You set your service areas — only Kololo, only Nakawa division, all of Kampala, plus Wakiso/Mukono if you want. We never send you a request outside your set area. Most electricians on the platform stick to a 5-7km radius and still get plenty of work.
