The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) is one of Africa's most significant energy infrastructure projects, spanning approximately 1,443 km from Hoima in Uganda to the Chongoleani peninsula near Tanga port in Tanzania. EACOP is a joint venture between TotalEnergies, Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC), Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC), and China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC). The project is committed to sustainable development, local content, and creating long-term value for host communities in Uganda and Tanzania.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th-year university student in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong academic standing (Potential Upper Second Class or equivalent)
  • Available for a full-time 13-week commitment starting July 2026
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Strong analytical and report-writing skills

Responsibilities

  • Support the HSE team in environmental monitoring and data collection activities
  • Assist with environmental impact assessments and compliance reporting
  • Help conduct site inspections and environmental audits
  • Participate in biodiversity and ecosystem monitoring programs
  • Support the preparation of environmental management plans and reports
  • Assist in coordinating with government agencies and environmental stakeholders
  • Help develop awareness materials and training content on environmental topics
