Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in tax compliance or advisory (fintech or banking experience is a plus)
  • Deep understanding of Nigerian tax laws and the practicalities of filing across multiple states
  • Proficiency in data analysis using Excel or Google Sheets
  • Professional qualification (ICAN/ACCA) completed or in final stages
  • High attention to detail with a right-first-time mindset
  • Ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders
  • Reliable, structured, and deadline-driven
  • Growth mindset with eagerness to learn how tax intersects with fintech products

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual computations for VAT, WHT, CIT, and other statutory levies
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of tax ledgers and maintain meticulous documentation
  • Support tax audits and investigations by preparing clear evidence and walkthroughs for tax authorities
  • Manage correspondence with regulatory bodies and represent Moniepoint's commitment to transparency
  • Stay ahead of changes in tax laws and assess their impact on the business model
  • Provide clear, jargon-free tax support to teams across Finance, Legal, HR, and Operations
  • Help implement and automate tax controls and dashboards to reduce manual effort and human error
  • Own the end-to-end filing and remittance process for all federal and state tax obligations, ensuring no deadline is missed
  • Support the Head of Tax in providing tax-efficient guidance for new business transactions, M&A activities, and expansion plans
