Retail Operations Lead - Cape Town

M-KOPA

Western Cape, Cape Town5 months ago

This is a field-engaged position with real accountability. You'll be measured on stock loss rates, sales performance across your store portfolio, store visit completion, Team Lead performance review cadence, and the timeliness of your reporting. The KPIs are specific, the targets are high, and the expectation is that you own your outcomes rather than escalate your way out of them. Strong performance in this role is explicitly designed to build toward the next step — Retail Operations Manager, Regional Operations Lead, or senior field operations roles across M-KOPA's other markets. The path is real and the trajectory is visible. If you're an operational leader who's ready to put that capability behind something that genuinely extends financial access to people who've never had it, this is the right conversation to be having. Ready to lead the execution layer of M-KOPA's retail growth in South Africa? Let's talk. The Retail Operations Lead is responsible for execution — making sure the retail channel performs, day in and day out, across every store within the team's portfolio. That ownership has real scope. You'll directly manage Retail Team Leads: setting expectations, running structured performance conversations, conducting formal reviews, and implementing performance improvement plans where needed. You'll own the full people management cycle for your direct reports — including participating actively in recruitment, supporting onboarding, and building team capability through ongoing coaching. The expectation is that you develop leaders, not just manage them. On the operational side, you'll drive accountability for sales performance across assigned stores — tracking results, identifying underperforming sites, and working with Team Leads to build and execute improvement plans. You'll conduct regular store visits to verify standards, confirm store readiness, and document outcomes. You'll monitor stock movement, ensure daily and weekly stock disciplines are being followed, and flag anomalies to the Retail Operations Manager without delay. Loss prevention in this context is a leadership behaviour, not a reporting function. You'll also serve as the operational liaison between your team and internal support functions — Customer Care, Warehouse, IT, Sales Operations — and review supplier invoices for stores within your portfolio for manager approval. When partner or supplier issues threaten trading, the escalation runs through you. Demonstrated experience in retai

Warehouse Operations Assistant

M-KOPA

Ghana5 months ago

Every smartphone that reaches an M-KOPA customer starts somewhere. It arrives in a warehouse, gets configured to spec, quality-checked, logged, and dispatched — before it ends up in the hands of someone who's using it to run a business, stay connected, or access financial services for the very first time. That process sounds simple. Done well, at volume, day after day, it's anything but. If you're looking for an opportunity where you can learn by doing, build strong work habits, and be part of a team that keeps things moving behind the scenes — this is worth your attention. M-KOPA is looking for a Warehouse Operations Intern to join our Logistics and Warehouse Operations team. This is a junior, entry-level role designed for individuals who are early in their working journey — whether you've just finished school or have some exposure to a similar environment and want to build practical experience. This is a hands-on, operational role at the heart of our supply chain — and it's the kind of opportunity that gives you real insight into how a fast-growing business runs on a day-to-day basis. We've served more than 7 million customers across Africa, unlocking over $2 billion in credit. 55% of those customers are accessing formal financial services for the very first time. 86% report a meaningful improvement in their quality of life. We're growing toward 10 million customers — and every device that flows through our warehouse is a step in that direction. Our product portfolio includes smartphones, digital loans, device protection, health insurance, and mobile data. The warehouse operation that supports all of this isn't a background function. It's the link between what we offer and what our customers actually receive. Your primary focus will be setting up PAYGO phones accurately and efficiently — following approved steps and processes to ensure every device is ready before it reaches the sales team. The daily target is 300 units prepared for sale. This requires focus, consistency, and attention to detail, and it's where you'll build strong operational discipline. Beyond device setup, you'll support order processing and dispatch activities, helping to ensure the right stock reaches the right place at the right time. You'll assist with maintaining accurate stock records — tracking Current Stock, Stock in Channel, and Total Sales — and monitor devices using M-KOPA's internal systems. You'll also help compile production data and support basic operational reporting so
